Elderly Parents Tracking - Who Decides?

Today, my parent drove off from our house, on their way to Florida. Typical "snowbirds", spending summers in Michihgan and winters in Florida. It never bother me when they left, but now that dad is 80 and Mom is 78, I see more opportunity for getting lost. Now mind you, they have never been bad drivers, matter of fact, I cannot remember them ever in an accident. But still, 1400 miles, on the road, things can just happen.
They do have a cell phone, but I still wonder if they ever tell me of the missed turns, or wrong exits that they came in contact with.
I still think that I should put a GPS Tracker on their car. but if they found out, what would happpen?? Would they be upset with me? You bet!
I would do it out of concern and love for them. Only check it when they were driving down. With the new technology, you can just plug one into their OBDII port in their car and you're tracking. They could even send it back after they got down there.
This has been a pressing issue in our house. To Track or not to Track....
This discussion will keep going for a while.
